Human portrait was always something that intrigued me visually as well as conceptually; there can be a whole story behind them and infinite layers of data that differentiates each human being from another.
My art practice was mainly based on drawings, paintings and photography. I began to observe human anatomy in order to take reference from it, merge it with my concept, and generate art as an output.
This project was originally a set of 2 dimensional illustrations based on real anatomic studies. The decision of taking them to a 3 dimensional space was to reinforce my focus on how each one of us is a personalised machine carrying our own set of attributes and connections.
I used Adobe Illustrator for the 2D illustrations, Adobe Photoshop to take it to 3D, Autodesk Maya for shading and lightning, and Arnold for rendering.
